To achieve a sustainable, low-carbon economy, new forms of mobility will be required, such as electric vehicles, shared mobility, and changes in the supply and location of parking spaces. Demographic trends, last-mile delivery systems, and the allocation of public space between mobility modes will also play important roles. As society adjusts to the lasting effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the need to decarbonise and reduce emissions must be considered as part of the future role of car parks. We have carried out strategy development for a range of clients to assess how to implement a more sustainable approach to parking.
